Terms of Service

1.Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old and meet any additional age and capacity requirements that apply to you to use the Service. You are responsible for accurate account information and for keeping your password and access credentials private. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

Reader access is linked to your verified account. Sign in using the email registered to that account, including when you use another compatible browser or device. Your account and purchased access may not be shared with other people.

2.Free Trial

• Your seven-day trial begins when you verify your email, sign in, and accept the reader terms for the first time.
• The trial provides access to Chapters 1 and 2. Chapters 3 through 11 require purchased full reader access.
• One trial is permitted per person. Signing out, changing browsers or devices, or accepting updated terms does not restart or extend your original trial.
• The trial ends automatically after seven days. Starting a trial does not authorize an automatic charge or enroll you in a paid subscription.
• We may change or discontinue the trial offer for future signups. Your account records its original trial start and expiration.

3.Purchases & Permanent Access

Full reader access costs $9.99 USD as a one-time payment and provides access to all 11 chapters and the reader's included front and back matter. Purchased access is permanent, with no scheduled expiration and no recurring reader subscription. Access remains subject to these Terms, including the payment and acceptable-use rules below.

Your purchase grants a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to read the content through your reader account. You may not share, resell, sublicense, or transfer your account or access. An Amazon book purchase or a merchandise purchase is separate from a purchase of this website's full reader access.

PayPal processes checkout and payments under its own terms and policies. Full access is activated after the Service confirms the completed payment. A PayPal approval or return to the website alone does not establish completed payment. If you have paid but cannot open the reader, contact support with your order reference before paying again.

4.Refunds, Reversals & Disputes

For a refund request, duplicate charge, payment error, or access problem, email contact160years.com@gmail.com with your order reference and a description of the issue. Requests are reviewed individually. These Terms do not limit any rights you have under applicable law or the payment provider's dispute and refund processes.

Any processed refund, including a partial refund, or payment reversal revokes the reader access associated with that payment. A payment dispute suspends the associated access for support review. These actions do not remove access supported by a separate, valid purchase. A refund, reversal, or dispute does not restart or extend a free trial. Contact support about the existing payment and access before making another purchase.

5.Intellectual Property

All text, data tables, graphics, and other materials made available through the Service are owned by the author or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may access and read the content for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, scrape, republish, or create derivative works from the content without prior written permission.

6.Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with content-protection or security features.
• Access the Service through automated means or attempt to extract content in bulk.
• Share, sell, or otherwise make your account or access available to others.
• Use the Service in a way that violates applicable law or these Terms.

7.Disclaimers

The Service and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The content is offered for general informational and educational purposes and does not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

8.Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for a claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

9.Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to the Service or other users. The payment and access-review rules above also apply. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

10.Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and revise the "Last updated" date. We may ask you to review and accept the current Terms before a new purchase. Updating or accepting these Terms does not itself create a charge, restart a trial, or reset an existing purchased access expiration. Completed purchases retain their recorded purchase terms, subject to applicable law.
